HANDCLASP began with a question that won’t surprise anyone who has watched a parent struggle with an everyday task: why is something this small, this hard?
Why we built it
From a frustrating pinch to a confident press.
Standard nail clippers haven’t really changed in a century. They still ask your hands to pinch, twist and squeeze — exactly the motions that become difficult with age, arthritis, or reduced strength.
We spent months prototyping with seniors, occupational therapists, and everyday users until we landed on a design that felt obvious in the hand. The result is HANDCLASP: a press-and-go clipper with a long lever, soft grip, and razor-sharp blades.
It’s a small thing. But it gives people back a small, important piece of their independence — and that has always been the whole point.
